At land by Darren Thomas

At Land

She is blood and steel
Teeth of river
Heart of diamond
The road is near
Calling the voyagers
To the sound of never
Whispers kiss our walking feet
Press us together

She is glass and ash
Tongue of sunshine
Eye of razor
The way is at hand
Weaving the voyagers
Into the whirl of dust
Shadows glaze over in the tumult
Douse us in skies
We can’t touch

She is tears and earth
Mouth of rock
Hand of ice
The journey creeps closer
Tearing at our heals
Real dreams dipped in honey
Sweeten memories cast in sand
Moving above the waves
Forever at land.
