EYES THAT DO NOT SEE – By Darren Thomas
Eyes that do not see
The heart in your mirror
The honey dripping sun in your smile
The cherry scent of summer in your hair
That see my reflection
In each eye
Call kisses to catch alight
On your lips
That attach themselves
To my dreams
That make me see in the dark
Spinning labyrinths to get lost and found in
Adventures to climb with hands entwined
Yours in mine
I solicit their gazing
With eyes wide open
With eyes wide shut
Eyes that do not see
The fallen leaves in your daydreams
The shiver of your words perched on the breeze
The feelings wrapped so tight they might burst
That see my ill fitting shadow
In each eye
Letting down the ladder to butterflies
In your laughter
That lights the way
To memories that shine like diamonds
That make me see in the light
Painting sherbet worlds we can taste each night
In real dreams
Yours in mine
We solicit their gazing
With eyes wide shut
With eyes wide open
